Reef Tech LED software
Just bought (2) Reef Tech Leds that were supposedly $1000 ea. and from what I can tell the software to control them is now unavailable. The PO says he has the software he can send me but he has to locate it. If he can't, Does anyone have the software and if he can, does anyone need it?

I had the original Reeftechs which I ran for a few years before selling them a number of years back. There are a couple things you should be aware of. First, the software is specific to the firmware version. If the software doesn't match the firmware, the software won't work. 2nd, there were a couple different generations of the Reeftech LED's. They used different firmware for the different generations.
Lastly, there was Bluetooth connectivity and RS232. RS232 was used primarily for firmware updates but you could also do some programming of the lights if I remember correctly. The Blutooth however was the primary means of programming them. The original Reeftechs used a very special RS232 Bluetooth adapter made by Roving Networks (WRL-08495) that was also very expensive and is now hard to find. I think the newer Reeftechs had a built in Bluetooth module but could be wrong.

Thanks, Slief
I'm really hoping now the PO comes up with the software. I haven't checked out how they do with just the factory default. Any idea if they could be used in some fashion with just the factory settings with 12 on 12 off? maybe just for a frag tank or something? |

See post#5 NOTE: APPARENT ZIP FILE WHICH MAY OR NOT BE SAFE AND CONTAIN SOFTWARE. Personally I'd open it and see if one can rebuild it using modern components Basically seperating the led board from the brain and rebuilding from there. https://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum...ht-info-1.html Drivers in board so should be able to identify driver chip thus power handling ability and dimming protocol Might just be able to attach a bluefish mini Last edited by oreo57; 06/05/2021 at 09:54 PM. |
