Octopus pets dog

Found this posted on Reddit. Someone was using a waterproof camera or phone to record this. Never realized they got that close to shore! Any comments on this behaviour? Typical? Not typical?

I've actually found them in even shallower water. Pretty amazing where you can find them.

Octopuses are incredibly smart and curious! He probably wanted to see what that very strange and fuzzy thing was lol!

This is awesome! As someone noted, octopuses are smart and curious - must have been so weird to have fur in the water it couldn’t help but investigate!
