I had looked through there but nothing really struck me as looking similar. Good news was I saw my coral beauty suck one up, so since they seem to just be scavenging off the rocks and the angel likes them I'll take them as free food.

Yeah, it's a bristleworm (polychaete). If you check you can see tentacles on the head, eyes, and even segmentation. It's stretching out from its burrow to graze algae on the rock, that behavior and the general look of the worm makes me think it's a member of the family Dorvilleidae. Occasionally they crawl out to find food and if yours ever crawl onto the glass it'll look similar to this. Incidentally the dark structures are its scissor-like jaws.

From what I could tell from looking at them from the side of the tank, they had two rows of short white bristles running the length of their body. If looking at them front-on they these rows of spikes/bristles were at approx 10:00 and 2:00 on a clock face.

This is the best I could get yesterday but I'll try again if they resurface.

Any wild guesses?

any i deas on a zoa spider trap? cheap frag in a spaghetti jar? cus shrimp in a glass got me every hermit in my tank and a hairy crab i wasnt expecting, but the spiders still bein creepy in his cave.

sirbazz, I was hoping to be able to tell if it has a shell or not, and I still can't tell! It looks like a some kind of nudibranch to me from that pic, but since I've never seen the bottom of one on the glass, I really don't know.

well my tanks just getting started, so the shrimps normal prey may not be in huge abundance, but he was a rescue and i got a real soft spot for them bully shrimp, they are just majestic. however, i was glad to see him wit that little creeper in his claws, just wish i had a better camera and coulda got pics, or a video. it was great lol. but the shrimps the one who found the thing in the first place, i was watchin him and he stepped on the spider and i saw it move and started stalking it. i was wondering why the shrimp switched lairs and was hanginging out on either side of that rock. well im at least im comfortable that if theres more shots on goal, i got a goalie lol. this site rocks, i wish i had this much info and help available when i first started reefkeeping, or even knew of it before i stopped

Nahhhh no shell at all from what I could tell.

And now you know what a, (suspected), nudibranch looks like from the bottom.

The worm listed above in the you-tube that has the frilly head is suspect. A bristleworm has a bullet-shaped head surrounded by bristles like those on its sides. A eunicid has tentacles on its head and is not friendly. That is different from eunicids I'm familiar with---you might fly that video past Leslie H in Invertebrates and see what it actually is.

Found this anemone (?) in my live rock, in about the middle of the picture and right of the hermit crab. It has clear tentacles, looks like a sunflower and has a purplish center. When I put my algae scrapper within 4 inches of it, it almost instantanously closes into the rock.

Thanks. Because of its location, I can't get a picture through the glass without the camera being at a severe angle. If it is a feather duster, that's great. Been seeing a lot of pineapple sponges and other good stuff since getting phosphates annd nitrates under control.

This is the best picture I have at the moment, will try to get a closer one soon. I at first thought these were some neat little zoa hitch hikers. However, I'm now thinking it's aiptasia. I already ordered some aiptasia x and it will be here on tuesday, but I just want a 100% ID on these guys

Yeah, that'd be a zoa-eating nudibranch. Get that out if you can and check for more. Dipping in something like CoralRX would be a good idea.

It has clear tentacles, looks like a sunflower and has a purplish center. When I put my algae scrapper within 4 inches of it, it almost instantanously closes into the rock.
