Hi Dr.S.
I have seen you say that rock should go down on the glass bottom, then sand filled around it.
Then I come upon a statement that you put the rock directly upon an deep sandbed in your own tank.
Which do you recommend? Or does it matter?

Hi B,

It doesn't matter a whit. I have both ways in the same tank. Probably it would be a bit better to put the rock on a bit of sand as "cushion" between it and the bottom of the aquarium.

If the tank develops a good sand fauna, and remains set up for several years, the rock will move up off the bottom due to animal activity.

Cheers, Ron
