How can a rotating trickle filter be made?
How can a rotating trickle filter be made? (nowhere for sale)
So that there is an even distribution of water. Will it rotate in seawater for a long time? Or is it better to somehow organize the even distribution of water? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They usually rotate until they get dirt in the ‘bearings’ or the spray bar holes clog up.
I would think that most people stopped using them last century. I’m sure that I have a few in my ‘aquarium stuff hoard’, if you really need them.

I made one in about 1992. Worked pretty good, but had to be cleaned every few weeks.

The one I had years ago had a top acrylic plate/tray with a lot of 1/8" -3/16" holes drilled in it. You could place a thin sheet of filter floss. The tray would fill ever so slightly and water would "trickle" out the holes and disperse over the bio balls. It worked as good as a rotating spray bar but without the clogging/stop spinning hassle.
