Now that I have the PLM-ADIN and have it installed, how do i get my magnetic wires hooked up? I see theres a cable along with a little adapter.
Thanks!

Connect the lead of your read switch to a female db-9 connector on one of the analog input

yes you could if you dont have one, you could also use a network cable and cut one end, you you will have to map out the pins

So I just wire the Ethernet cable to my magnetic switches directly? Is there a diagram anywhere? And is the connection it came for for using on a computer to trigger things?

You need to take wire 7 and 8 (analog input 2)
here is diagram of the pin layout: http://www.datalinkcom.net/rj45_pinout_wiring.html connect one of the 2 wires on each side of the terminal on the switch

I connected each wire of the magnetic switch to the 7 8, one goes to 7 the other goes to 8, and i assigned voltage 1 to the socket that a light is plugged in to, but im not sure how its supposed to turn on/off the light. Im messing with settings in the PLC but i dont see anything happening when the switches come in contact and then break the contact

no problem...
for any one else wanting to connect a switch, you have to use pin 2,3,4,5 + ground
