Octopus EXT-PS models, is that true??

Recieved from aquarium supply today:

"I was talking to Octopus today and they are discontinuing the EXT-PS models and going with the DNW models only now. Through customer reviews, they said the DNW's give better performance so they didnt need to make the PS models any longer. Would you like to go with the DNW-200 model. Its the comparable model to the EXT-PS models. Let me know asap please."

Anyone confirm that?

for me they don't have the model and are trying to sell the old one..

The ps models are going to still be around but under a new name CV is not supplying them anymore, they are building them for someone else from what i've heard.

FWIW the bubble plate's arent needed and were poor designs imo. the bubble plate extension cut down the reaction chamber to much and didn't utilize the whole body. The one advantage of the ps version's is the pump wasn't restricted and produced a good amt of air. The newer versions coming out are suppose to be unrestricted plumbing wise, have larger output's and the volute's are supose to be larger. They are supose to pull more air than the ps version's as well. Hopefully they will come in on time and suppliers will start getting them at the end of next week.

That's what I heard too. They are gonna combine the EXT and the DNW models into one. So the new DNW models will have a diffuser plate like the EXT's had.

The only octo that will have a bubble plate is the octo pro. The regular octo's will not have them anymore. The ps version will still be around but not advertised from coralvue and not considered an octo. That is what CV has said about it.

Ok so I new version is about to rise... However, do you think that this problem with the bubble plate makes DNW's to be consider with better performance than the actual PS models?

Luke

REEF OCTOPUS will continue to produce the PS Series for several of their customers in the world, including the company that i work in Brazil.

Coralvue (USA market only) can decide to get only PRO and the new NW and DNW from now on ... but the PS will not finish !

best

Marcello

Marcello, thanks for the clearing that up. Ok, coralvue here in the US isn't going to carry them anymore : ) I guess i need to realize RC is more cultured than just the US.

For sure Luke, RC can make a difference in the aquarium industry for many countries, probably worldwide.

We have at least 2 great forums in Brazil, but everybody hits RC at least once a day to see what is going on !

And we have already seen great threads from European, Asian and other folks from different places.

Thx

Marcello
